Solar Generators
A solar generator works by storing electricity generated by the attached solar panels, which absorb sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC). As long as they have exposure to sunlight, the panels can generate energy, which you can use to power your devices and appliances. A common misconception is that solar generators require direct sunlight to operate, but they can still absorb light even on cloudy days.
When people talk about the ‘size’ of a solar generator, they generally mean its power capacity. The capacity is most often measured via their wattage. A good rule of thumb is to purchase a generator with almost double the capacity you need to ensure you have sufficient power even during a prolonged blackout.
Depending on the brand and the quality of the battery, you can expect a solar generator to last years. For example, the EcoFlow DELTA Pro uses a state-of-the-art LFP battery, which will last for 6500 cycles before reaching 50% of its original capacity. A battery management system helps prolong the device’s lifespan for a lasting, cost-effective solution.
The devices and appliances you can run depend on the generator’s capacity. Lower wattage generators like the portable EcoFlow RIVER with a 288Wh capacity can power your smaller devices, such as laptops and smartphones. To power larger appliances, like a refrigerator, you will need a higher capacity generator like the DELTA Pro, which has a starting capacity of 3.6kWh that you can expand up to 25kWh.
Yes, solar generators are safe, especially compared to traditional fossil fuel generators. They don’t emit harmful fumes or use flammable materials to create power. They use solar panels to absorb sunlight and convert it into energy. The power is stored in a state-of-the-art battery until you need it to charge or operate your chosen devices. There is no concern about blown fuses from power surges either. If a solar generator doesn’t have the necessary wattage, it won’t power the device.
If staying connected and saving money are essential to you, solar generators are absolutely worth it. They provide a safe, renewable way to keep your devices and appliances going when you need them most, whether during a blackout, going off-grid, or traveling to remote locations. Since they don’t rely on grid power, they also reduce your utility costs. Solar generators are clean, efficient, and versatile, which helps explain their growing popularity. Solar generators are also a practical way for you to reduce your carbon footprint, as they use 100% renewable green energy that produces no CO2 emissions.
Gas generators operate on fuel, are loud, can’t be used indoors, and require ongoing maintenance. EcoFlow solar generators bundles are clean, require no maintenance, and don’t incur ongoing costs. In addition, you can safely use an EcoFlow portable power station indoors.
EcoFlow DELTA solar generator bundles are designed to keep your devices running for hours on end. Take a DELTA Max solar generator bundle for example, you can power a 60W fridge for up to 33 hours. You can keep most of your essential devices like laptops, smartphones, and small appliances running throughout the day.
EcoFlow solar generator bundles contain our industry-leading portable power stations, which come with an advanced battery management system that regulates voltage, temperature, and current in real time. This gives you a safe, reliable battery that you can use for years on end.
Lithium Battery
Charging a battery requires a voltage parameter of 56V-56.8V.
At least 10 years. The cycle life of the Lifepo4 batteries can generally reach 5000 times, even if it is charged and discharged once a day, it can be used for 5000÷365=13.69 years. If properly maintained, battery ages more slowly and has a longer service life.
The lithium battery is better. Whether it is cycle life, safety and environmental protection, it is better than other lithium-ion batteries. Because the battery has a high ignition point and a stable structure, it will not overheat or even catch fire like other lithium-ion batteries.
The production of electric vehicle batteries in China is becoming more and more active. Major companies such as CATL and BYD are located in China and have firmly occupied the forefront of electric vehicle battery production. In addition to these heavyweight players, CALB, Guoxuan, SUNWODA and EVE are also expanding their business in the field of electric vehicle batteries, thus providing consumers with more and more choices of electric vehicles.
China is currently the world’s largest producer of lithium batteries, accounting for nearly 60% of the available market share. Japan and South Korea are next, accounting for 40% of the global market share.

Yes, in a healthy battery, ions flow freely between the cathode and anode. Batteries degrade even when you don’t use them. A fully charged lithium-ion battery will lose about 20% of its capacity after a year of normal storage.
The most straightforward way: take a battery, charge it, measure its open circuit voltage (OCV), and let it sit without any connections. Going back to the battery later, you will notice that the battery has a lower OCV, indicating that the battery is in a lower state of charge (SoC). This SOC difference is the battery self-discharge rate.
Typical Ni/Cd and Ni/MH batteries have a self-discharge rate of up to 25% per month. So NiCd batteries usually need to be charged before they can be used in the field, because lead-acid and NiCd batteries lose their charge very quickly.
Batteries generate electricity through chemical reactions inside the battery, which means that the battery’s capacity gradually decreases over time. This phenomenon is called self-discharge. Battery self-discharge cannot be completely avoided.
A short circuit can cause excessive current draw and drain the battery. Check the charging system for loose or worn alternator belts, electrical faults (loose, disconnected, or disconnected wires), or alternator failure.
Inverter Generator
Unlike regular gas or propane generators, inverter generators convert “dirty” AC electricity to direct current (DC) and back to AC again for consumption. The inversion process conditions the power, making it much “cleaner” and suitable for sensitive electronics. Traditional fossil fuel generators only run at full speed. Inverter generators throttle up and down based on electricity consumption for optimal efficiency and reduced fuel costs. Hybrid inverter generator systems like EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 can run on gas or propane and up to 6 other charging methods. EcoFlow’s DELTA generators are safe for indoor use and offer many additional benefits.
Inverter generators offer two primary advantages over regular gas and propane generators. “Cleaner” power for sensitive electronics and better fuel efficiency. However, traditional inverter generators have many limitations. Because they rely entirely on burning fossil fuels, indoor operation is prohibited. As well as ongoing fuel and maintenance costs, traditional inverter generators are noisy and emit deadly Carbon Monoxide and particulate pollution. Hybrid inverter generators like EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 + Smart Generator 4000 (Dual Fuel) provide all the energy security and efficiency of traditional inverter generators plus up to 7 additional charging options. Once EcoFlow DELTA is charged, you can use it anywhere in your home.
Why choose between a traditional inverter generator and a power station when you can have the best of both worlds? EcoFlow’s DELTA series hybrid inverter generator systems offer up to 7 charging options, including lighting-fast DC-to-DC charging with gas or propane-fueled Smart Generators — including EcoFlow Smart Generator 4000, the leading inverter generator available. Why limit yourself to fossil fuels? You can also connect solar panels, household AC power, or a Smart Home Panel for the ultimate in energy security, monitoring, and control.
Inverter generators have a higher price tag than outdated gasoline and propane (LPG) generators, but your higher upfront costs will pay off in the long term. Traditional gas generators only have one speed — full blast. Even if you only connect a single power tool or appliance, you’ll empty your tank as quickly as you would at maximum wattage. Plus, the dirty AC power that traditional fossil fuel generators produce can fry your sensitive electronics. Inverter generators throttle up or down based on electricity consumption to save on fuel and are safe for even the most sensitive devices. Better yet, combine EcoFlow’s DELTA series portable power station designed for indoor use with a propane/gas-fueled Smart Generator for a dual-fuel hybrid inverter generator with up to 7 charging options.
